With an impressive 46‑year career, Larry Cosme brings unparalleled experience, versatility, and leadership. He began his professional journey while attending Eastern Michigan University, entering the fabrication trades at Dearborn Fab & Engineering. After 20 years mastering welding, fitting, and layout work, Larry joined DMW and embarked on a path marked by consistent advancement and high-impact contributions.
Larry has held a wide range of roles across the organization, each building on his deep technical background and strong commitment to continuous improvement. After serving as a QC Specialist for five years, he transitioned into Purchasing as a Fabrication Materials Buyer—where he created and shaped a brand‑new buyer position. His expertise then led him to help launch the Lifecycle Improvement (LCI) Group, where he authored the business plan and model that established the department’s foundation. Larry later advanced to QC Control Manager, expanding his responsibilities to include Facilities, before being promoted to his current role as Director of QC/Facilities.
Known for his mentorship and coaching mindset, Larry leads by example and follows the philosophy: “Say what you do, do what you say.” He avoids micromanagement, instead fostering an environment of accountability, professionalism, and a shared pursuit of excellence. While he sets high expectations—aiming for perfection—he empowers his team to reach those goals with integrity and pride.
Outside of work, Larry enjoys an active life. He spends his free time golfing, fishing, and boating, and in recent years has taken up participating in 5K charity marathons, striving to complete three to four events each year.
