DMW Gets Recognized
Kansas City, KS - September 2009 - Recently, DMW completed the work of a complete material handling system at Dallman Station Unit 4 in Springfield, Illinois. In the August issue of POWER magazine, Dallman Unit 4 was chosen as the 2009 Plant of the Year. The magazine summed up why this plant was chosen, “For negotiating an unprecedented agreement with the Sierra club that allowed the project to move forward, for choosing the latest in coal-fired technology and air quality control systems as the foundation for the city’s comprehensive energy policy, and for assembling a tightly integrated team that completed the project well before the contractual deadline and under budget, CWLP’s Dallman 4 is awarded POWER magazine’s 2009 Plant of the Year award.” DMW provided the design, supply and erection supervision of the coal, limestone and gypsum handling systems for Dallman Station.
DMW’s success is also getting noticed in the manufacturing arena. Industry Today quoted DMW as “On Its Way, Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor Co. has made a name for itself by inventing and designing new ways to move materials.” The article highlighted many of DMW’s proprietary products and designs in both the power and automotive industries. Frank Warmoth, the company’s President/CEO, says the company has balanced the downturn of the automotive industry over the last couple years with demand in other areas, such as power and utilities, “New environmental regulations have helped us to expand…as a result of the Clean Air Interstate Rule requiring 28 states to reduce emission by 2010 and 2015, resulting in sulfur dioxide reductions down to 30 percent of previous levels.”

Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor and FLS Koch Renew Pipe Conveyor Collaboration Agreement
Kansas City, KS - October 2008 – Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor Co. and FLSmidth Koch have renewed their pipe conveyor collaboration agreement for another three years. The agreement was signed at the Min Expo trade conference in Las Vegas in September 2008. FLSmidth Koch is headquartered in Wadgassen, Germany with the pipe conveyor division headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Terms of the agreement provide for DMW to furnish the project management including supply of steel, electrical components and the erection services while FLSmidth Koch provide the pipe conveyor engineering and critical components. This scope split has worked well on the existing 15 pipe conveyor jobs currently in progress in the United States.
FLSmidth Koch has been in business since 1945 and is the world leader in the design and construction of pipe conveyors having built over 250 such systems. The pipe conveyor is a closed system which is environmentally friendly and, in certain situations, more cost effective than traditional conveying means through the elimination of transfer towers and additional drive stations.
