The Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor Co. (DMW) Safety Program is based on the premise that every employee is entitled to employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards.
It is the policy of DMW to comply with the Occupational, Safety and Health Act and all state and local regulations that apply to our employment practices. We invite all of our employees to work with us to achieve an "excellence in safety" which involves the "spirit" of compliance as well as the "letter" of compliance. Preventing injuries and illnesses in the workplace is good business practice, which improves the overall profitability of our company while recognizing the dignity of the people performing the work.
Regard for the safety and health of fellow employees, our customers, the employees of all our contractors and subcontractors, and personal safety is a condition of employment with DMW. It is, therefore, the responsibility of all levels of our organization to share in injury and illness prevention activities and to comply with all DMW safety programs.
All employees are invited and encouraged to offer suggestions to improve our safety programs. Job related injuries and illnesses do not happen; they are caused. Giving safety and health top priority in all our endeavors will reduce the frequency and severity of injuries and illnesses at DMW.

Environmental Management System Overview (back to top)
At DMW we recognize our corporate responsibility to protect the environment while achieving our business goals of manufacturing our products within our communities, and installing them on our customers' premises. Our commitment to our customers to provide them with "business practices of the highest integrity" incorporates the concerns of our communities, our customers and our employees that we demonstrate good corporate citizenship with regard to the environment.

ISO 14001 (back to top)
As proof of our commitment to contribute to a cleaner environment, DMW has established an Environmental Management System (EMS) with objectives and targets, and have willingly subjected our manufacturing and installation practices to the scrutiny of the requirements of the International Environmental Standard, ISO 14001.

Michigan C3 Award (back to top)
Shortly after receiving ISO 14001 certification, we applied for recognition as a clean corporate citizen of the state of Michigan. This process entailed presenting evidence of our EMS to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and a public review, by the citizens of Michigan. On December 7, 2001, Governor John Engler, along with the Director of the (MDEQ), Mr. Russell J. Harding, signed a Certificate of Recognition designating DMW as a Michigan Clean Corporate Citizen (C3). This distinction is a tribute to our exemplary environmental performance and stewardship. The DMW Environmental Policy Statement, which follows, sets forth the goals of our EMS.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT (back to top)
DMW's Environmental Policy is "to provide our customers, our community and our employees with environmentally sound business practices of the highest integrity".
This policy is supported by the following objectives:
- Identify the areas of our operations that have an impact on the environment. Once identified, objectives and targets are set and reviewed, as appropriate.
- Prevent or reduce pollution at the source.
- Recycle in an environmentally safe manner any pollution that cannot be prevented.
- Investigate the proper treatment of any pollution that cannot be prevented or recycled.
- Necessary releases into the environment shall be compliant with all applicable regulations.
- Strive for continual improvements in our waste management practices.
Apply the above stated objectives while working on our customers' premises.
DMW's policy, supporting objectives and significant aspects have been communicated to all employees and will be made available to external interested parties upon request at the time and location established by DMW.
